The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

The Nightingale, by Kristin Hannah, is a WWII novel of two sisters, who survive the war in different ways. Not much has been written about the lives of those who were not fighting at the front, or imprisoned in the camps, but they too dealt with horrors of war. Hannah has written a novel that kept me captivated to its very end. The sisters are not only separated by many years in age, but differing world views, which leads them down their own path as they navigate their survival and that of those around them. I enjoy well written historical novels and this one did not disappoint. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves the genre.
